ASKY, the leading Pan-African airline, is proud to announce the arrival of its newest aircraft, a Boeing 737 MAX 8, registered as ET-BBB. The aircraft landed on Tuesday, March 18, 2025, marking a significant milestone in ASKY’s ongoing fleet modernization initiative.
This next-generation aircraft, fresh from the factory, offers an improved travel experience with 8 seats in Business Class and 177 seats in Economy Class. The Boeing 737 MAX 8 replaces the airline’s Boeing 737-700 NG, ET-ANH, which has retired after 15 years of service.
Incorporating cutting-edge technology, the Boeing 737 MAX 8 is designed to be more fuel-efficient, reducing both fuel consumption and CO₂ emissions. Its advanced engine design also reduces cabin noise, ensuring a more comfortable and serene experience for passengers. These enhancements align with ASKY’s commitment to providing more sustainable travel options while lowering its environmental impact on local communities.
“ASKY remains committed to offering passengers a modern, efficient, and eco-friendly flight experience. With the addition of the Boeing 737 MAX 8, we continue to push the boundaries of passenger comfort and environmental responsibility,” said an ASKY spokesperson.
ASKY, a privately-owned Pan-African airline, is part of a collaborative effort involving regional banking institutions like The ECOWAS Bank for Investment and Development (EBID), The West African Development Bank (BOAD), and ECOBANK Group (ETI), alongside Ethiopian Airlines. The airline’s mission is to foster regional integration, economic growth, and tourism within Africa.
