The All Progressives Congress (APC) has unveiled plans for an intensive grassroots mobilisation ahead of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Area Council elections scheduled for February 21. The party’s campaign strategy will include door-to-door engagement, youth-driven initiatives, and targeted outreach to communities across Abuja.

Deputy Speaker of the House of Representatives and APC Secretary of the FCT Council Election Campaign Council, Benjamin Kalu, emphasised inclusion and representation as central messages, particularly for Igbo residents in the FCT. He highlighted his role in national leadership as a signal that the Igbo community is represented in the current administration, a contrast to previous governments.

Kalu stated, “We are going beyond posters, radio jingles, and slogans. We are going into every household, every business, and every community to sell the message of APC. The facts speak for themselves — the development you can see and touch is our campaign tool.”

The 138-member APC FCT Campaign Council, chaired by AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq, will oversee the mobilisation efforts. APC National Chairman Nentawe Yilwatda confirmed that governors from across Nigeria’s geopolitical zones are actively supporting candidates through grassroots engagement and community outreach.

The party remains confident of victory, citing visible development projects, inclusive governance, and robust local mobilisation as key drivers for winning the six FCT area councils and 68 council membership seats.
