APC Chieftain Urges Tinubu to Arrest Sponsors of Insecurity

Olatunbosun Oyintiloye calls for a crackdown on financiers and suppliers aiding bandits and terrorists.

In response to the persistent wave of insecurity across Nigeria, Olatunbosun Oyintiloye, a chieftain of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Osun State, has called on President Bola Tinubu and the country’s security chiefs to urgently identify and prosecute individuals financing and supporting insurgent groups.

Oyintiloye, a former member of the Osun State House of Assembly, made this appeal in a statement released on Sunday. He emphasized that the ongoing attacks, particularly the recent killings in Benue and Plateau states, are tragic reminders of the need for decisive action.

He insisted that to truly dismantle the operations of bandits, terrorists, and kidnappers, security operatives must go beyond frontline battles and block the supply lines of food and ammunition to these groups. According to him, as long as criminals have access to essential supplies and arms, they will continue to terrorize communities.

“The point is that to effectively combat insecurity in the country, it is important to target the individuals and entities that are bankrolling criminal activities and insurgencies,” he stated.

Oyintiloye also urged security agencies to intensify efforts to uncover those providing weapons, vehicles, and hard drugs to these criminals. He advocated for enhanced intelligence gathering, strong anti-corruption frameworks, and international cooperation to track illicit financial flows sustaining violence.

While acknowledging the efforts of the nation’s security forces, he stressed that the fight against insecurity must go deeper, targeting the financial and logistical lifelines of those responsible for nationwide unrest.
