Anikoh Calls For More Corporate Backing For 3rd Lekki Scrabble Classics

Brands Rally Behind Lekki Scrabble Classics to Enhance Tournament's Appeal and Reach

The 3rd edition of the Lekki Scrabble Classics is set to benefit from significant brand support, marking an exciting advancement in the tournament’s organization. As one of Nigeria’s premier scrabble events, the Classics is preparing to build on the successes of previous years with the backing of several key sponsors.

Among the major supporters is Loense International, an engineering and construction firm in the oil and gas sector, which has committed to supporting the tournament. The marine logistics company has a history of backing scrabble, contributing to the game’s growth and visibility.

Apparel firm Frontpage Couture (FPC) is also returning as a sponsor. Known for its high-quality designs, FPC has consistently supported the game, reaffirming its commitment to the Classics.

Midas Farms will provide additional backing for this year’s event, adding to the robust support base. Mindgames Incorporated, known for its innovative scrabble tournaments worldwide, and Elcrest E & P, another player in the oil and gas sector, will also support the tournament.

Samuel Anikoh, President of the Lekki Scrabble Club, emphasized the importance of sponsorship in making the tournament a standout event with global appeal. “While we appreciate the significant efforts and contributions of sponsors like Loense International Ltd, Boaz Integrated & Allied Services, Frontpage Couture, Midas Farms, Mindgames Incorporated, and Elcrest E & P, there is still considerable room for improvement in sponsorship levels from corporate organizations,” Anikoh stated.

Anikoh highlighted the benefits of the game, including improved language skills, enhanced critical thinking, and social bonding, and called on more corporate bodies to invest in the sport. The Lekki Scrabble Classics is scheduled to take place from September 28 to 29 this year, promising an exciting and well-supported competition.
