Air Peace, Nigeria’s leading airline, has marked the first anniversary of its Lagos-London route, celebrating its successful entry into the European market. The milestone was commemorated with a series of special activities on board the LOS-LGW and LGW-LOS flights, aimed at rewarding loyal passengers.
According to Ejike Ndiulo, Head of Corporate Communications, the anniversary celebrations included exciting giveaways, a raffle draw, and a cake-cutting ceremony. During the raffle, 20 lucky passengers received complimentary rides, with ten passengers on the LGW-LOS flight winning Simplaa mobility service rides from Gatwick Airport to destinations across the UK. Seven passengers on the return LGW-LOS flight were awarded GTi rides from MM2 airport to various destinations in Lagos, while three others enjoyed free Sixt Mobility service rides.
In an additional gesture of appreciation, five economy-class passengers were upgraded to business class, providing them with an enhanced travel experience on the anniversary flight.
Allen Onyema, Chairman and CEO of Air Peace, expressed his gratitude to the airline’s customers for their continued support. “This anniversary is a testament to our commitment to providing world-class services to Nigerians and travelers across the globe,” he said. “We appreciate our passengers and will continue to enhance their travel experience with top-tier services and rewards.”
Since launching in 2024, the Lagos-London route has quickly become a preferred choice for travelers between Nigeria and the United Kingdom, offering affordable and seamless travel options. Air Peace’s expansion into the European market represents a significant achievement for Nigerian aviation and strengthens the airline’s position as a leading carrier on the transcontinental route.
In the past year, the airline has successfully operated over 662 flights, transporting more than 136,661 passengers. This accomplishment underscores Air Peace’s dedication to expanding Nigeria’s international aviation footprint while providing passengers with a superior travel experience.
Air Peace has introduced several customer-centric initiatives to enhance the travel experience, including generous luggage allowances and streamlined airport transfers. The airline has also partnered with SIMPLAA UK to offer exclusive limousine services and a 10% discount on transfers from Gatwick Airport. For students, Air Peace provides a 15% discount on economy-class tickets, making travel more affordable for young learners. Additionally, collaborations with top brands like Samsung have allowed Air Peace to offer premium rewards, such as the Samsung Galaxy SmartTag 2, enhancing the overall passenger experience.
Beyond customer service, Air Peace’s Lagos-London route has also contributed to job creation and boosted tourism and business travel, supporting economic growth. The airline’s presence on the route has helped reduce Nigeria’s reliance on foreign carriers and fostered healthy competition in the aviation market, ultimately benefiting travelers globally.
As the airline celebrates this major milestone, it reaffirms its commitment to superior service, safety, and customer satisfaction, ensuring passengers continue to enjoy the best in air travel.
