Nigerian singer-songwriter Adekunle Gold has officially released his much-anticipated new single, “Coco Money”, marking his second major release of 2025.
The vibrant Afro-pop track — produced by Niphkeys — blends the sounds of Afrobeats, highlife, and contemporary pop, with Adekunle Gold’s signature smooth vocals layered over upbeat, danceable rhythms.
First teased at a private dinner event in May, “Coco Money” is already drawing attention for its creative interpolation of Rihanna’s “BBHMM”, borrowing the original’s bold energy while reimagining it in a fresh, African context.
Lyrically, the single explores themes of wealth, luxury, self-confidence, and the aspirational lifestyle — a continuation of Adekunle Gold’s embrace of the “soft life” aesthetic in recent years.
“Coco Money is about enjoying the fruits of your labour unapologetically,” Adekunle Gold shared in a behind-the-scenes clip from the recording session.
The release follows his February 2025 track “Obimo”, and further builds on the momentum from his 2023 album, Tequila Ever After, which received widespread acclaim for its fusion of global sounds and authentic Nigerian storytelling.
“Coco Money” is now available on all major streaming platforms.
