The newly appointed Commissioner of the Federal Character Commission (FCC) representing Abia State, Dr. Victor Ikeji, on Tuesday pledged his support to Governor Alex Otti’s administration.
Ikeji made the pledge while presenting his letter of appointment to the governor during a courtesy visit to the Abia State Governor’s Lodge in Abuja. His appointment was recently approved by President Bola Tinubu following Otti’s nomination and recommendation.
“Without equivocation or exaggeration, this appointment would not have been possible without Governor Alex Otti. He chose merit over convenience, principle over politics, and service over sentiment,” Ikeji said, praising the governor’s people-focused leadership.
He pledged loyalty to the Abia State government and alignment with the governor’s development philosophy, stating that his work at the FCC would be guided by fairness and inclusion.
“I accept this national responsibility with a heart full of gratitude and a conscience anchored in service. My commitment is to deploy this opportunity solely in the service of Nigeria and in honour of the trust reposed in me by my Governor,” he said.
Ikeji also commended President Tinubu for approving his appointment and expressed readiness to advance national unity through the constitutional mandate of the Federal Character Commission, highlighting its role in promoting equity, competence, and justice in public service across the federation.
He concluded by thanking Otti for his consistent servant leadership and commitment to grooming men and women of integrity for public service.
