The National Identity Management Commission (NIMC) is set to launch an online pre-enrollment platform to streamline the process of obtaining the National Identity Number (NIN), according to the Director-General, Abisoye Coker-Odusote. This initiative aims to address challenges in the NIN registration process and enhance efficiency.
Speaking during the 2024 Management Retreat organized by the Commission at Eko Hotel and Suites, Coker-Odusote emphasized the importance of accurate data in achieving President Bola Tinubu’s Eight-Point Agenda. The new pre-enrollment platform will enable individuals to input their information online and subsequently visit nearby centers for biometric capturing, simplifying the overall registration procedure.
Coker-Odusote highlighted that the online pre-enrollment platform is currently undergoing internal testing and is expected to go live in about a week. This digital approach is anticipated to improve the accessibility and convenience of NIN registration, eliminating concerns about extortion during the registration process.
The introduction of the online pre-enrollment platform aligns with efforts to bridge the gap between the government and citizens and enhance the overall experience of individuals seeking to obtain their National Identity Numbers.
