The Nigerian Maritime Administration and Safety Agency (NIMASA), under the auspices of the Ministry of Marine and Blue Economy, is set to establish Blue Economy information desks at all international airports across the country.
This initiative gained momentum following a productive discussion between the Honorable Minister of Aviation, Mr. Festus Keyamo SAN, and the Director-General/CEO of NIMASA, Dr. Bashir Jamoh, OFR, as outlined in an official statement by the agency.
The statement highlights that the establishment of Blue Economy desks at international airports will facilitate inter-ministerial collaboration, fostering the exploration of potential opportunities within the Nigerian maritime sector.
The desks aim to raise awareness about the significance of a robust intermodal transport system and promote tourism, among other crucial components vital for the growth of a maritime nation. This strategic move signifies a concerted effort to integrate and advance the blue economy agenda in Nigeria.
